BBC brings weather to Hiltingbury

BBC South Today’s weather forecast on Thursday evening came from Hiltingbury School in Chandler’s Ford where some Eastleigh Lions were helping with marshalling the event. Not only did Alexis Green bring the weather forecast but she also brought heavy rain just before the firework display.

Despite the weather though, 1300 people turned out to watch the professional display produced by Pains Fireworks. Burgers, hot dogs, cake and non-alcoholic drinks were on sale to help raise funds for the Hiltingbury PTA.

A safety briefing was given to the marshals at 17:30 prior to the gates opening at 18:00. The firework display followed an enthusiastic countdown at seven o-clock.

However, despite the rain, a great display was enjoyed by all.
