Eastleigh chats with it’s Germanic Twin

Another Thursday, another Twinning Zoom for Eastleigh Lions club……same Lions (minus Mary) but such a different ‘dialogue’

Our friends from Kornwestheim were many and varied, but all had the same common ability – to speak good English. My practised words of German were completely unnecessary for the moment, but maybe when we actually visit. Number wise,  the meeting maxed at 20 all told (including our six).   Liane and Thomas were very new Lions and in fact hadn’t met their own fellow Lions in person, but had joined in Zoom meetings.   Helmut amongst many others, were veterans in the nicest possible way.  Sula had actually lived in Chandlers Ford and had joined Lions for that reason now she was back home.

We talked about our hoped-for visit in 2022, and we have the promise of a trip to the local version of Windsor Castle, with a personal tour from the owner!! Its always who you know isn’t it?   We spoke of our challenges this year fundraising and in the general community and will speak again later in the year when more is known about travelling and socialising.

Prost!!!!!     und Auf Wiedersehen!!!
