If you go down to the Woods today…

The Eastleigh Film Festival moved into the woods to stage two spooky films which chilled film goers, despite the mild late summer evenings. The wooded area of the Itchen Valley Country Park once again hosted this popular event on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th of September.

The Friday night choice was the Descent where a group of women’s caving expedition goes horribly wrong, as the explorers become trapped and ultimately pursued by a strange breed of predators.

On Saturday the featured film was A Quiet Place Part 2. Two years ago the film festival showed the original Quiet Place but fans had to wait an extra year to see the sequel, due to the Covid restrictions last year. In the film, once again, the family have to face the violent aliens who hunt by sound.

Eastleigh Lions provided marshalling manpower to help safe access to the screen in the woods. The first night was attended by 50 filmgoers and the Saturday saw a full house of nearly 100 in the audience.
