TEDDEBOLA ISN’T A TROPICAL DISEASE!

A Tombola game with a guaranteed Teddy prize was something not to be missed by many of the attendees at the Eastleigh Unplugged event on Saturday 11th september. The High Street and Market Street were closed to traffic for the day and an assortment of brightly coloured gazebos were erected down the middle of the two roads. It was the second outing for the bright yellow Eastleigh Lions gazebo and certainly helped to raise our profile at this event.

The stall was wo/manned from 10:00 to 16:00 offering fun for children with the catch a duck and the teddy tombola. In addition the PSA prostae testing was promoted and the Message in a Bottle initiative. Over the day we managed to raise just over £100 for good local causes including some payments made on our card reader.

In addition to the street stalls there was street theatre and artwork, with puppets and dance going on near the bandstand. The icing on the cake was the appearance of the sun at the end of the afternoon. Special thanks should go to Mary for her Lion’s stall, planning work, at very short notice, making the day a big success.
