Zone K Meeting at the Point

Eastleigh Lions were delighted to host our Zone K meeting where representatives of many local Lions Clubs joined together at the Point in Eastleigh to discuss a range of issues from boosting membership to inter-club cooperation. The meeting was chaired by Robert Armstrong-Collet the zone K chairman.

P1020131The evening started with a presentation by the Fareham and Eastleigh Citizens Advice Bureaus. They explained the range of work they undertake and explained how CAB is a charity and not a government organisation and how funding issues had impacted the amount of time they can offer and some of the outreach projects. It was discussed some of the ways Lions and CAB could work together to mutual advantage.

P1020137The meeting was then handed over to the District Governor Jarvis  Macdonald whose first task was to present Devan Kandiah of Eastleigh Lions with his 30 year long service award. He then led a lively discussion with input from the Regional Chair Gordon Rhodes. Contributions and ideas were shared by Lions from Eastleigh, Romsey, Swanwick and Fareham.

It was a good turnout of members on the night with a range of useful thoughts and inspiration to take away from the event.
